It's not just a Game

I am a maniac of game. For a girl, I can be said as a true game lover, where not many girls like to be. I love playing many kinds of game for entertainment. Just for making myself happy and killing the time. But because of my friend, I know that game is not just for fun.

Once I got a game from a friend. The name of the game is Piggly. The game is an adventure game of collecting apples. At the first time, we need to find only an apple. But the number of the apples we should get gets bigger and bigger next. Just like any other games, there are also obstacles in finding the apples. The worms, snails, frogs, horses, hedgehogs, some. Torn, acid, high places, many. And it was kinda hard to win.

Someday, I gave the game to my friend. A girl next door. And I taught her to play. And she liked it just like me. She was not a gamer like myself. But she finally likes to play game, influenced by me. Because she sees me playing many times and maybe she feels like, “Oh, that looks fun! I’ll do it also!”. And there she was, playing Piggly beside me.

Playing this game was not easy. Even me, say an expert, :-p I couldn’t finish the game easily. Sometimes it took many times to win a level. But sure, a true gamer never gives up until the end. And my friend, she stopped playing because she found it hard to win a level. It was in the half way of winning the game in her laptop when I had finished the final level of Piggly. And I said to her, actually joking, “Why do you give up? It’s just a game. If you stop now, it means you totally lose. Imagine if you do it in your real life. I can do it, why do you think you can’t? We eat the same rice,” and she said nothing.

The next several days, I saw her continued playing. She had passed some levels that I did not even know that she really did. She had gone so far. “So, you play again?”, I teased her and smiled.

“Well, yes I do it again. I’ve thought about what you said and I think you are right. If I give up to this game, means that I lose, not only in the game, but in my life.” She said.

“Oh my God, I’d be honored. I’ve inspired you…” I said laughing and she threw a pillow on me. So, she took it seriously. Actually, I couldn’t even remember that I’ve said that kind of thing to her.

Well yes, at the first time, it’s just a game. But then it deals with your life if you really take the lesson. Why don’t you just be patient? Just give a little more effort and you’ll win. At the end, it’s not just about a game, but finishing something. If you surrender in the game, maybe you’ll do it in your real life. You quit doing something because you think you can’t.
